Back in the Day is a television series derived from Hammerhead owner Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s passion for racing nostalgia. The series aired weekly for two seasons on the SPEED Channel combined footage from 1960s and 1970s TV series Car and Track, along with narration from Earnhardt Jr. to relive racing moments from the early days of racing.

Back in the Day became the first major network project for Hammerhead in 2006. The television show was highly acclaimed for the relationship it established between one of NASCAR's premiere drivers today and historical racing footage. The show’s two seasons have also been released on DVD.
